Elementary Japanese

japanese-for-busy-people-1Class work concentrates on “survival spoken Japanese” for everyday situations. The basic writing system will also be introduced.

 

Textbook: Japanese for Busy People, Book 1

  • 1-A: For those who speak little, or no Japanese. (L.1-9)
  • 1-B: For those who have completed 1-A, or its equivalent. (L.10-18)
  • 1-C: For those who have completed 1-B, or its equivalent. (L.19-25)
Intermediate Japanese (1)

Textbook: Japanese for Busy People, Book 2

  • 2-A: For those who have completed 1-B, or its equivalent. (L.1-5)
  • 2-B: For those who have completed 2-A, or its equivalent. (L. 6-10)
  • 2-C: For those who have completed 2-B, or its equivalent. (L.11-15)
Intermediate Japanese (2)

Textbook: Japanese for Busy People, Book 3

  • 3-A: For those who have completed 2-C, or its equivalent. (L.1-5)
  • 3-B: For those who have completed 3-A, or its equivalent. (L. 6-10)
  • 3-C: For those who have completed 3-B, or its equivalent. (L.11-15)
Advanced Japanese
introduction-to-japanese-reading-skils4-A: Transitional course from intermediate to advanced level. Focus on reading and conversation in order to gain fluency and a larger vocabulary. Textbook: Introduction to Japanese Reading Skills
akagawa4-B: Focus on reading and conversation in order to gain more fluency and a larger vocabulary. Textbook:  Short Stories by Jiro Akagawa
4-C: Focus on reading and group discussion in order to gain more fluency, better understanding of grammar and a larger vocabulary including kanji. Textbook: material provided by the instructor
